Vanilla cake

A classic vanilla cake is a hugely popular cake in the Netherlands. The cake is great with coffee and your house will also smell great when you are baking the cake. The base of this recipe is already delicious, but you can vary endlessly with the ingredients of the vanilla cake. You make the batter using a blender. You make the batter using a blender.


  • 4 eggs
  • 160 grams granulated sugar
  • 10 grams vanilla sugar
  • Knife tip salt
  • 160 ml sunflower oil
  • 75 ml milk
  • 200 gram flower
  • 16 grams baking powder
  • powdered sugar


  1. Blending

    Put the eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt in the blender and blend. Add the sunflower oil, milk, flour and baking powder and turn the blender on high until you have a smooth batter.

  2. Baking

    Grease the baking pan and pour the batter into the pan. Place the cake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

  3. Serving

    After 45 minutes, the cake may be removed from the oven. It is hugely tempting to take a bite now, but let the cake cool completely before removing it from the mold. Finish the cake by sprinkling some powdered sugar on top.
